Transforming everyday liminal spaces into something different. To decontextualise a space that is usually unseen, or commented upon for the wrong reasons, raising it to something of significance. This was one project on an arm of Made in Roath arts festival 2014.
Neighbours welcomed being able to play in the back lane again, a past time inherent in most adults memory. Being able to run, skip, draw with chalk, play alone or with friends. Adults too became more aware of the back lane as we worked with visual artists, sound artists and movement artists trying to draw attention to and respond creatively to this seemingly uninteresting place. Most of all it made safe, human activity and presence in a back lane, a place usually deemed as unsafe.
